Angie is a Certified Dental Assistant and an Administrative Assistant. Angie has been in the dental field for over 20 years. In Fact, Angie has worked with Dr. Tovar since Dr. Tovar started practicing dentistry. Angie’s love for dentistry lead her from dental assisting to expanding her role in the dental office to include administrative duties and insurance coordinating.
Angie moved to Washington in July 2017 yet is still a huge part of the team. Working remotely Angie provides administrative support for the team. When Angie returns to Wisconsin, about every other month, she fills in wherever is needed. Angie enjoys working side by side with Dr. Tovar while she is here, but you will also find her up front working with the administrative team.
It is important to Angie to keep up with continuing education courses. She enjoys continuously expanding her knowledge to better assist Dr. Tovar and better educate patients. Makenzi, or Mak, is a Dental Hygienist and graduate from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She received her degree in dental hygiene, along with her local anesthetic license, and nitrous oxide certification. Makenzi is passionate about caring for and educating her patients on the importance of dental hygiene. She believes that “we are learning more every day on how our oral health affects our overall health and how the body functions. It’s important to know how to take care of your mouth specifically – just like our DNA, no mouth is the same!” She loves helping patients formulate their “game plan” on how to effectively take care of their teeth and subsequently their body.
Makenzi has almost a decade of experience in the dental field. Throughout high school, she contributed to dental community events and medical mission work further solidifying her love of dentistry. Mak started as a Registered Dental Assistant in Austin, Texas. She wanted to learn all aspects of dentistry, so she could better explain treatments and procedures to patients and be a more well-rounded hygienist. As an active member of the American Dental Hygienist Association she attends yearly conferences to further her knowledge in the ever-changing dental field.
Makenzi’s patients often comment that she is thorough, yet gentle. Makenzi always strives to remember what it’s like to be the patient, and to “do unto others as you would have done unto you”. She wants you to feel comfortable and look forward to your next visit! She knows…it’s a strange concept!
Born and raised in the South, Makenzi moved to the Appleton area with her husband, David, daughter, Joanna, and two fur babies, Jameson and Lilly, in September of 2018. David is the Director of Christian Education at Good Shepherd Lutheran, so a lot of their extra time is spent doing activities with their youth group and helping with church events. Makenzi loves reading, spending time in the kitchen, hearing a good “dad joke”, quoting movies, and (like a true southern girl) listening to country music.

Ashley is a Dental Assistant on our Dental Team. A graduate of Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC), she is a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA). Her lively personality and infectious smile can be seen helping all through-out the office.
Ashley first became interested in dentistry at an early age. A full-time orthodontic patient herself, she eagerly wanted to learn more about oral health and anatomy. To quote Ashley: “I basically lived at my dentist and orthodontist’s office in elementary and middle school. You would think my frequency of visits would dissuade me from the field as a whole, but I just wanted to learn more!”
Ashley is a firm believer in “judgement-free” dentistry, realizing that not everyone loves the dental office as much as she does. Ashley works hard to calm patient’s nerves by thoroughly explaining procedures and answering any questions or concerns. Ashley is not afraid to let people know that she is human too and whether she wants to admit it or not, she gets the occasional cavity too! Ashley wants to help people achieve a healthier, happier smile. She feels if you’re in the chair with us, you are already taking the first step to get there.
A Green Bay native, Ashley lives with her fiancé, Dan, and their two spunky little dogs, Mia and Luna. When not in the office, you can find her picking flowers out in her garden, spending time with family and friends, or baking and eating dessert. Ashley believes that dessert is her favorite food group and could absolutely talk about it all day!
